The storm is underway and for many residents stuck at home today and tomorrow (who aren’t out surfing, that is), things can get unbearably boring. You can only stare at paint for so long, you know?
Not everyone is without power, but many people still are. So,for you poor souls with no lights, no internet, and nothing to do, we’ve made you a list of things you can do to pass the time.
1. Have a party.
Do you really need an excuse to have friends over to have a little fun? No, but here’s one anyway: the storm blows, so we might as well make the most of being stuck inside. Just play a Frank Sinatra holiday album on your phone and grab a bottle of whiskey and…Oh, there’s no whiskey and no one wants to go get it? Well then…
2. Let Frank Sinatra bring you some alcohol.
The app Saucey will deliver alcohol to your door so you don’t have to go anywhere, and starting tomorrow, they’re enlisting a few Frank Sinatra impersonators to carry out orders (in honor of ole Blue Eyes’ birthday). Just type in the code “Sinatra” within the app and Frank himself (kinda) will show up at your door to croon you a few jingles and maybe even stir up a drink or two.
3. Learn a new skill from YouTube, like whittling or making paper snowflakes.
You know that one thing you’ve been putting off learning to do for forever? Today is your day. Today you’re going to learn how to do something cool. Maybe it’s learning French, or making an origami Yoda. Whatever, no judgments here. What are you waiting for? Get to it!
5. Contemplate life.
Life is wild right? There are endless theories about the meaning of it. Like eeeeeeeeeeenddddlessss.
6. Whip up some no-bake cookies.
This might be kind of tricky if your power goes out and you have to light the stove (eek!), but there are a ton of sweet treats you can cook up without the use of an oven. Check out a few here.
7. Call your mother.
It may not keep you from going crazy, but we’re sure she’d love to hear from you.
